  • To ensure the best germination, the temperature must be at least 20C. Sow the seed point-side down 1.5cm deep in small pots in peat-free compost. Plant outdoors 90cm apart from late May to avoid frosts.

Sow indoors: April to early June

Plant outdoors: Late May to July

    Harvesting time: September to October

Check out our Grow & Cook section for more growing tips.

  • We love this squash because it is versatile. Its flavour works well with various spices, herbs, and vegetables. Delicious in salads, curries, stews, and soups. It can be used as a substitute for sweet potatoes in most recipes.

Preparing this squash is a breeze. The skin is edible and softened when cooked, and the seeds can also be eaten when roasted.

Check out our Grow & Cook section for more cooking ideas.
