An unusual heirloom cucumber believed to have originated in Europe. Crystal Lemon produces lemon-shaped fruits with bright yellow skin and crisp, pale green flesh. The flavour is mild, gently sweet, and refreshing, with a delicate crunch and no bitterness.

Productive vines typically yield 6-8 fruits per plant and grow well outdoors in a warm summer or under cover in a polytunnel or glasshouse.

Average number of seeds: 14

Open-pollinated, chemical-free seeds. Grown and saved in Wexford, Ireland. We only grow and save seeds from plants that were started from certified organic seeds.

  • Crystal Lemon cucumbers enjoy warmth, shelter, and regular watering. Sow seeds indoors into small pots or modular trays using peat-free organic compost. Keep warm (18-22°C) and moist until germination, then grow on in good light.

    Plant out after all risk of frost has passed into a sunny, sheltered spot, outdoors or under cover. Space plants well and train vines up strings, canes, or netting to improve airflow and fruit quality. Harvest fruits young for the best flavour and texture.
