  • It takes about 5-6 months from planting a seed to harvesting your first ripe tomato. To grow tomatoes successfully, follow a few key steps. For a detailed, step-by-step growing guide, visit our Grow & Cook section.

    Sow indoors: February to April

Plant out: Late May to June

    Harvesting time: June to October-November

  • During tomato season, we eat tomatoes morning, noon, and night, as they bring us so much joy after months of nurturing. We eat them like sweets, in pasta dishes, or as part of a simple tomato salad with flaky sea salt.

We also preserve tomatoes in various ways for the year ahead, making sauces, jams, and chutneys. Fresh tomatoes can be frozen for later use in pasta sauces, stews, soups, and casseroles.

Check out our Grow & Cook section for more cooking ideas.
