To ensure the best germination, the temperature must be 18-20C. Sow the seeds on their sides 2.5cm deep in small pots in peat-free compost. Plant out 50cm apart. Can be grown undercover or outside from late May to avoid frosts. Grow them up a string or support them with bamboo.

Plant out: May to July
Harvesting time: July to October
