  • To ensure the best germination, the temperature must be 18-20C. Sow the seeds on their sides 2.5cm deep in small pots in peat-free compost. Plant out 50cm apart. Can be grown undercover or outside from late May to avoid frosts. Grow them up a string or support them with bamboo.

    Sow indoors: March to May

    Plant out: May to July

    Harvesting time: July to October

Check out our Grow & Cook section for more growing tips.

  • A taste of summer. Cucumbers are well known in salads and pickles, but why not try them hot with a spicy sauce or in a refreshing cold drink or soup like Gazpacho?

We love making a quick Asian cucumber salad seasoned with garlic, soy, sesame, rice wine vinegar and chilli oil.
