Sweet Pumpkin Chutney

from €15.00

Sweet, gently spiced, and full of autumn warmth — yet made to be enjoyed all year round.

Each season, we save the seeds from our best pumpkins and squash — Rouge Vif d’Étampes, Pink Banana, and other heirloom varieties grown for flavour, not yield. It’s a quiet cycle of seed stewardship that keeps our garden — and this chutney — rooted in tradition.

Our Sweet Pumpkin Chutney begins with these homegrown pumpkins, roasted slowly to bring out their natural caramel sweetness. We combine them with Bramley and Blood of the Boyne apples, Highbank Orchards organic apple syrup, organic cranberries and apricots, and our own heritage apple cider vinegar.

Layered with warm organic spices — black mustard seed, cumin, green cardamom, cinnamon, fresh turmeric root, and wild Alexander seeds from the Wexford hedgerows — this is a glossy, golden chutney that’s mellow, aromatic, and gently complex. Less sharp than a traditional chutney, it leans softer, sweeter, and more fruit-forward.

It’s the chutney we reach for year-round: spooned onto dahl, served with curries, paired with roast vegetables, or layered into a great sandwich. It works just as well with Sunday roasts, melted cheddar on sourdough, or alongside buttery mash and sausages — and is always on the table at Christmas with turkey and ham.

Available as a 225g wide-neck glass jar for everyday use, or as a Gift Box, wrapped in our illustrated paper — inspired by the Wexford and Irish food story — and presented in our signature black box.

  • It’s the chutney we reach for all year long: spooned onto warm dahl, served with curries, paired with roast vegetables, or layered into the ultimate sandwich. It’s equally brilliant with Sunday lunches, buttery mash and pork sausages, melted cheddar on sourdough, or stirred through warm grains and squash. And come December, it’s the one we always have with our Christmas turkey and ham.
