Rainbow Eggs

€3.50

Our eggs have a loyal following at Fat Tomato, bringing happiness and nourishment to many people.

Over twenty heritage chickens, guinea fowl, and ducks call our garden home. They live in a purpose-built outdoor run, safely protected from wildlife from the neighbouring forest. Free to roam, they scratch for bugs, slugs, and snails, while enjoying the herbs, fruit, and vegetables we give them from our garden.

Our feathered friends are pastured-raised and fed organic grains (grown locally in Kilkenny), oyster shells, and kitchen and garden scraps, producing only the most delicious free-range eggs. Unlike the eggs you typically find in supermarkets, which come from hybrid hens bred for production over flavour, our nutrient-dense eggs are laid by heritage breeds such as Devon, Leghorn, Sussex, American Silkie, and Bluebell.

Happy hens equal delicious eggs.

Each carton contains six colourful eggs—available exclusively for collection at our Honesty Farm Shop.

  • Eggs are incredibly versatile in the kitchen. Whether boiled, scrambled, or fried, they’re delicious on their own or used in omelettes and frittatas for a quick meal. They are also perfect for baking cakes, muffins, and bread. Add them to salads for extra protein, or whisk them into soups and sauces for creamy textures. The possibilities are endless.

Check out our Grow & Cook section for more cooking ideas.

  • Store eggs in a cool, dark place in your kitchen. We do not typically refrigerate our eggs, as they are unwashed and retain a natural oil film on the shell that helps keep them fresh.

However, if your kitchen is particularly warm, it is best to store eggs in the fridge to maintain freshness.
