Calendula Pot Marigold is a hardy, easy-to-grow annual with bright yellow and orange edible flowers that can bloom for much of the year. Loved by bees, hoverflies, and other beneficial insects, it’s an excellent companion plant for the vegetable garden and a cheerful addition to borders, pots, and beds.

The petals have a mild, slightly peppery flavour and can be used fresh or dried. Calendula is also traditionally valued for its skin-soothing properties and is often grown for teas, oils, and salves.

Average number of seeds: 50

Open-pollinated, chemical-free seeds. Grown and saved in Wexford, Ireland. We only grow and save seeds from plants that were started from certified organic seeds.

  • Very easy to grow. Sow seeds in modular trays or directly into their final position in the garden. Cover lightly with peat-free compost and keep moist during germination. If growing in trays, plant out when seedlings are 5–10 cm tall. Suitable for pots.

    Sow indoors: March to September

    Plant out: April to September

    Harvesting time: May to November
