At Fat Tomato, we grow a wide range of chillies and peppers each season — from bright and citrus-led to deep, smoky, and gently sweet. Many are grown in small quantities, each contributing something distinct to the harvest.
This blend is created just once each year, using a selection of our best fruit, picked at different stages of ripeness. Some are left to fully mature for warmth and depth, while others are harvested earlier to capture a fresher, greener edge.
The chillies are dried slowly and gently, preserving their natural oils, colour, and complexity, before being crushed and blended into a balanced, flavour-forward blend. The result is layered and expressive — fruity, earthy, and lightly smoky, with a gentle, building heat.
This is not a one-note chilli flakes, but a considered blend shaped by the season, the harvest, and the balance of varieties grown that year.
Used sparingly, it brings depth and character to a dish. Sprinkle over roasted vegetables, grilled meats, or oily fish, stir into dressings and marinades, or finish eggs, grains, and simple plates where flavour matters. A small pinch goes a long way.
